Morgins - Vallon de They

The start is on the mountain pasture road at the entrance to the Vallon de They (route de Chésery) just after the Ranch. The yellow arc represents the sun of the "Planets trail" which starts at the same place during the summer season.

You have the choice between 2 hiking trails :

- the bucolic Sentier des Ponts (Bridge Trail) which follows the Vièze river and plunges you into a magical winter setting with its Eau Rouge spring, its 32 bridges and its picnic shelters. Even if the signposting is noted as a snowshoe trail, you can do it with profiled winter shoes (make sure you walk in the middle of the bridge).

- the alpine road which is groomed in winter to the alp restaurant They.

On our map, we took the Bridge Trail for the outward journey and the larger route for the return. When the snow is hard, crampons are recommended on both paths.

Don't miss an invigorating stop at the Vieux They farmhouse restaurant, open during the day (weather permitting).

Avalanche danger:

In winter, never go beyond the Vieux They farmhouse restaurant because of the danger of avalanches after the restaurant as well as in the whole Fécon area.

Sometimes the Vallon de They is also closed halfway before the Vieux They farmhouse restaurant, in which case a barrier and a ribbon closes the alpine road and the snowshoe trail.
