Data do evento

From 06/08/2025 to 04/01/2026 between 10 am and 6 pm except on January 1st, November 11th and December 25th. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Wild beauty, calm nature, the photographer Jean-Baptiste Tournassoud (1866-1951), known for having immortalized the First World War, also took an aesthetic look at Nature. A new exhibition!

The “Jean-Baptiste Tournassoud, reflets de nature” exhibition will present the work of the Aindin photographer in 50 magnificent, never-before-seen prints! To be seen initially at the Musée du Revermont (from August 06, 2025 to January 4, 2026), then in a travelling exhibition from January 2026, on rent, accompanied by a booklet and documentary dossier.

The exhibition will focus on the artistic and pictorial dimension of his work, making the leap from the better-known exhibition on the Great War. Sensitive to Impressionist painting until the end of his life, his artistic expression as a photographer was undeniably nourished by it. His skies, clouds and the play of light reflections in water bear witness to this.

The departmental collection includes 6,000 works and documents from the Jean-Baptiste Tournassoud collection, including 4,000 glass plates and autochromes. Ain's departmental collection is recognized as one of the most important holdings of this photographer by national institutions.
