The Odyssey of Color

Emerging from the ordinary, Ekiem’s fresco splashes life onto the back wall of a chameleon space, alternately a winter skating rink and a pétanque court in the center of the Notre Dame de Bellecombe village resort. Here, the artist plays the magician of color, infusing energy and striking contrasts, making this corner of the village the focal point of our attention. His lively patterns weave a dialogue with the seasons, echoing the greens of the fir trees and the blues of the alpine skies. His technique, all in clean lines and stylized shapes, superimposes the planes and awakens thought, preserving an impression of lightness that pulses to the rhythm of the village.

In this visual symphony, fragments of his characters and shapes, echoes of the past and winks to the present, are mixed in an artistic “sampling”. They invite us to a continuous reflection, a moving story immortalized on concrete. Ekiem, a visual virtuoso, orchestrates a double reading of our environment: the first, instinctive and vibrant, the second, meditative and in-depth. It is in this duality that lies the strength of this linear fresco: linking mountain heritage to ultra-modern impulse, giving life to a work that defies time and questions an alpine history in full contemporary metamorphosis.
