Once upon a time there was Courchevel Le Praz: a mountain village in Savoie, perched at an altitude of 1,300 metres, which became a winter sports resort in 1946 and an Olympic venue in 1992. Let a local guide tell you all about its rich history.

Let us guide you on a morning tour to discover the history of Courchevel Le Praz: a small mountain village perched at an altitude of 1,300 metres in the Tarentaise Valley in Savoie, which began to develop into a winter sports resort in 1946 with the creation of the Courchevel ski resort. In 1992, the village became an Olympic site, hosting the ski jumping and Nordic combined events, then the venue for the Alpine Ski World Championships in 2023 and the future venue for the 2030 Winter Olympics for men's Alpine skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined. Walking tour including a visit to the ski jumping stadium in collaboration with the sports club. Please note: the tour includes steps.

Tour led by a guide from the Pays d'art et d'histoire des hautes vallées de Savoie (Land of Art and History of the Upper Valleys of Savoie) with the FACIM Foundation.
