Discover all the secrets of this dish, which has been awarded the STG (Traditional Specialty Guaranteed) label, a local specialty made with Abondance cheese. Take part in its preparation, then share a moment of conviviality as you taste it.
The traditional recipe for “Berthoud” was developed in the early 20th century by a family of the same name who ran a bistro in Thonon-les-Bains (74). Served as an individual hot dish, it is traditionally made from a careful blend of melted Abondance cheese and white wine, served in a “Berthoud cup.”
A guaranteed traditional specialty, Berthoud showcases essential products from its birthplace: AOP “Abondance,” an iconic pressed, cooked raw cow's milk cheese, and AOP “Vin de Savoie” white wine.
