Abondance has been awarded the Pays d'art et d'Histoire label thanks to its rich heritage. Discover the Abbey of Abondance and its cloister, the Maison du Val, an interpretation centre on the making of Abondance cheese and the agriculture of the valley.

The chalets of the Abondance valley are typical of mountain life.

Several centuries ago, religious people from neighbouring Switzerland settled here. The Abbey of Abondance spread beyond the borders of Savoy. All around, the village was built little by little. The Abbey of Abondance, the architectural jewel of the valley, contains fabulous artistic treasures. It has remained intact and has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1875. A visit to this place allows you to discover its church, cloister and conventual buildings.
