Built around 1258 by Carthusian monks, this charming mill has benefited for centuries from the waters of the Reyssouze, the river that flows through Bresse. Admire this wheat mill and its 4 levels, where millstones, cylinders, sack-lifts... are in operation.
The former miller, owner and active member of the Amis des Moulins de l'Ain, will tell you all about the history of the Bresse region, at this site listed on the Route des Plus Beaux Moulins de France and registered with the Fondation du Patrimoine.
Push open the door of Bruno's Mill and discover its history and mechanisms. A mill until 1789 for the monks, then for a century for the Counts de la Boulaye, it became a power plant for a time. Later, it once again became a flour mill, eventually specializing in animal feed. Today, it's open to you for a plunge into the past and traditions, where young and old are sure to marvel. Children can touch, test and put themselves in the shoes of a miller for the duration of a visit.
For an unparalleled experience, you'll be able to watch a 1908 dynamo being used to generate 110 volts of electricity. 2 turbines are also dedicated to the production of clean, renewable energy (electricity).
