located on an overhang over the south shore of Lake Nantua its the work of Bourg-en-bresse sculptor Louis Leygue, a former deportee himself.
Inaugurated in 1949, this is the first monument in France dedicated to the 595 deportees from Ain who lost their lives in the death camps.
