A former convent, the Chapelle de la Visitation is now an exhibition space dedicated to the dissemination of contemporary art. It offers a cycle of four exhibitions per year punctuated by meetings with the curator of the exhibitions, Philippe Piguet.
It is in the heart of the city of Thonon-les-Bains, at the junction of the district realized by the architect Maurice Novarina in the years 70-80, that the Chapel of the former convent of the Visitation is located.
It was built in the middle of the 17th century under the direction of Saint Jeanne de Chantal, who continued to establish the order she had founded with Saint François de Sales in 1610 in Annecy. Seven stained glass windows, dating from 1875, illustrate the episodes of the life of the holy man.
Today, the Chapel of the Visitation is an exhibition space dedicated to the diffusion of contemporary art. It offers a cycle of four exhibitions per year punctuated by meetings with the curator of the exhibitions, Philippe Piguet.
