At 12 km from Châtel, this pass is the end of the Abondance Valley's road. The view is beautiful: One side, the village of Châtel, and the other side: Montriond's Lake.
The Col de Bassachaux is a site of Chablais Geopark, its history is linked to the formation of the Northern Alps. An orientation table and a presentation explains everything.
