Discovering prehistory in Haute-Savoie
The museum visit can be adapted to suit all school levels and educational needs.
Classic program:
Morning (2h to 2h30):
- Dynamic guided tour of the Prehistory exhibition: dialogue between the archaeologist and children around the many objects and mannequins to touch, archaeological objects and visual panels.
- 2 participatory workshops: parietal art (painting like Cro-Magnon on a cave wall) and archaeological excavation (learning excavation techniques on a facsimile).
Meal (1 h): Picnic outdoors or in a dry room
Afternoon (2h to 2h30):
- Prehistoric nature walk with workshops: hunting with propellant, natural resources, animal spotting, fire demonstration, prehistoric hut building. This easy dirt trail starts from the museum and can take the group all the way to the lakeshore.
Other program options :
- Additional workshops at the museum: propulsor shooting, fire demonstration, flintknapping demonstration, history of life and the Alps and fossils, prehisto-food (evolution of diet), invention of writing, making a prehistoric object...
- Orienteering race on the theme of Prehistory on the Guidou Estate
