Le Reposoir

Le Reposoir is a village full of History. Created by the Carthusian Monks in 1151 to organize the pastoral and agricultural life. John from Spain will settle the Carthusian Monastry here and, refurbished in 1932, it will become a Carmelite convent. The building, listed historical monument, still shelters 20 nuns. A part of the building is open for visiting and the chapel dedicated to John from Spain is also possible to be visited.

In Le Reposoir, there are also many farms and alpine pastures : the Béol's valley (former name of the valley of le Reposoir) is specialized in Reblochon making. Many farms direct sell their local goods.

During winter, the village turns itself in a little ski resort for families : many slopes from green to red in the center of the village and a 1-km-long teleski toward la Colombière's pass called Chalet-Neuf.

Le Reposoir is also the home town of Nathan Paulin, the slackline world champion ! You may be able to see him perform during "la Fête aux Bleus", the traditional inhabitants fest which takes place each summer.

If you are crazy about biking, you will love to tackled the Tour de France champions by climbing the Colombière's pass.

If you are fond of hiking, the village will fulfill you too.
