This technical hike in the heart of Europe's largest Lapiaz allows you to gain altitude and enjoy breathtaking views of the Platé desert and neighboring massifs from the summit.
From the refuge de Platé, take the path to Col de Portette.
Quickly fork left to reach Col du Colonney.
At the Col, follow the ridge on your left towards Tête de Monthieu and Tête des Lindars to reach the summit of Tête du Colonney (cabled aerial passage). Be careful here.
Make a U-turn at the summit to return to the arrival point of the Lindars chairlift.
Turn right and head back down to the refuge de Platé.
The millennia-old lapiaz formations of Platé inspire respect for the forces at work here since geological times. Stay on the paths and don't pick plants in these delicate environments.
