Arboretum de Beynost: un arbren un enfant, une vie...

After major floods in 1995, the Commune of Beynost commissioned 2 hydraulic and environmental studies . The current space of the Arboretum is made of a thin layer of topsoil covering a layer of permeable marl. On a heavy rain, the top part tends to slide on the marl. Solution: planting trees ! but how?. At the initiative of the deputy Mayors, it is proposed to create an arboretum and associate a child with a tree. Since 1998, every year a one-day party is organised by the Commune to allow children and parents to choose a tree. Once the tree is chosen, a written evidence is given to the child.
