Le sentier de l'aigle

From the Vanoise Express, board one of the largest cable cars in the world and tame the void. In the cabin, the most courageous among you will try the "Vertigo" experience, a glass plate on the ground which offers an incredible view of the villages of the Ponturin valley at 380 m above the ground! On arrival at Montchavin-Les Coches, you will enjoy the coolness of the forest on the north side. Very quickly, you will be challenged by the sound of the Nant Bénin, a wild torrent that rises from several streams under the Col de Frêt at an altitude of 2,450 m. Take the opportunity to soak your feet! Further on, you will discover the Alpage des Esserts with its pretty stone chalets. You may even be greeted by the sound of the tarine bells! Before starting the descent, stop for a moment to admire the panoramic view of Peisey-Vallandry and Nancroix. You will appreciate the return via the pastoral road which is gentle and calm.

DESCRIPTION STEP BY STEP :

- If by car, park at the Zéchières car park in Plan Peisey (free).

- Go to the departure of the Vanoise Express cable car in Plan Peisey.

- Take the Vanoise Express in the direction of La Plagne Montchavin-Les Coches (paying).

- At the arrival of the Vanoise Express, turn left and follow the Bauches path, just below the carriageway, towards the Esserts mountain pasture.

- Leave the right side of the Esserts mountain pasture and go to the Pont Romane in Nancroix.

- At Pont Romane, take the road towards the village of Nancroix.

- Go to the shuttle bus stop "L'Ancolie", located in front of the restaurant of the same name in Nancroix.

- Get on the shuttle bus (free) towards Villaret and get off at the terminus to take the La Lonzagne televillage which leads to Plan Peisey (free).
