Goal: Discover thermal flight in paragliding.
This course is part of the continuation of the progression in paragliding: the discovery of ascent.
Once the autonomy is acquired, the objective is no longer to accumulate flights but to increase their duration!
In the Aravis we are lucky to have within our reach suitable and little frequented practice sites to approach serenely this key step in the progression of a pilot.
The course begins with a return to the school slope to find your bearings and validate the different takeoff techniques (back and front wing).
Then, we will take advantage of the calmer aerology of the beginning of the day to realize the various exercises essential to approach the thermal in full safety: pitch, roll, dynamic turn...
Once these prerequisites are validated, the grail will be within your reach!
You will then be able to discover the different ascents accompanied by two instructors who will guide you in the air to decipher the subtleties of the air mass.
The practice will be supplemented by theoretical inputs essential to understand the formation and evolution of ascendances during the day.
This course is also the opportunity to prepare for the pilot's license exam.
